It has been said that you are what you eat. And this is true. Eating healthy is one way to achieve a fit and toned body. But this is not enough. There are also other factors that contribute to weight loss. If you truly want to lose weight, your determination and persistence will play a large part in getting you there. With all the diet fads circulating you can get the wrong idea on how to go about it. Some diets are just crazy, unrealistic and very bad for your health. Here are some tips on how to be fit and fab – the healthy way.

  • Exercise. When it comes to losing weight, you just cannot take exercise out of the equation. Exercise is vital to weight loss. It will help you lose the extra pounds, burn excess calories and develop muscle tone. The trick here it to choose a form of exercise that you love and enjoy doing. Do you love dancing? Then dance. If you are a swimmer, then swim. If you enjoy running, go for a jog. It does not matter what you do as long as you get moving.
  • Keep a health journal. Keep a record of your journey to weight loss. This way you can keep track of your achievements, failures and daily eating habits. Write down your food cravings, emotions and feelings. This will help you analyze the habits and emotions that hinder your progress.
  • Think healthy. Dieters focus too much on losing weight and getting thin. A lean and fabulous body is simply the by product of a healthy body. So think healthy. Make it a habit to select healthy food, to take the stairs instead of the elevator and to avoid unhealthy habits in general. And before you know it, you’ll have that body you have always wanted.
  • Make it a lifestyle. The reason why diets do not work is because they are only short term. So if you want to really be healthy make it a way of life. Make eating right and exercising a habit.
